On April 22, 2014, the CA Senate Elections & Constitutional Amendments Committee passed SB1272, The Overturn Citizens United Act, by a near unanimous margin, to be placed on the upcoming November ballot as a Voter Instruction measure.

We, the people of California, call on the CA Senate Appropriations Committee to now take the same affirmative action in their committee hearing scheduled for May 5th, 2014, to consider this.

The Supreme Court has wrongfully construed corporations to be the same as natural persons, and has further wrongfully construed free speech to be counted by the amount of money spent. Only a constitutional amendment correcting both of these errors can now remedy this and restore the vision of our founding fathers for the rights of the people.

California can demonstrate its national leadership in standing prepared to ratify the needed constitutional amendments, and thereby increase the pressure on Congress to do its part in initiating them.
