But the House divided the Fast Track bill into two different votes, one only on the Fast Track enabling section, which in fact passed, the other on retraining for American workers who everyone knows will lose their jobs in vast numbers behind it, which did not pass.
The American people are not stupid. We well recognize that the purpose of this bifurcation charade was to try to tunnel this thing through, to make it seem like certain members of Congress were against the TPP, only to come back another day and quietly pass the second section of the bill.
The second part of the bill stands as an open confession that the TPP would be very bad news for American workers. Otherwise why would the remedy of this section even be necessary?
We are strongly opposed to passage of this second section in any form, the sole actual purpose of which is to enable the enormous damage you have already admitted, by its proposal, that the TPP would absolutely cause.
