You bet we want to slow down the bleeding (as opposed to the accelerating bleeding which is going on now). In fact, we want to STOP the bleeding altogether, and the amputations and the deaths too.

I urge you to set a binding time table for withdraw from Iraq. It is time for the Democratic Party to set up a united front against the blind, mindless obedience to the Bush-Cheney policy of war without end. I hope you in your debates with the Republicans who are in opposition to setting a time table will pass on a message for me. I am a former Republican who will not vote for Republicans because I have heard too many Republican Congressmen on cspan state that they do not listen to their constituents. I also do not believe that they are worthy of being in office if they cannot support the benchmarks for withdraw, when they are based upon the President's own statements of what the benchmarks for withdraw are. I am confident that there are Democrats who also concur with me. This bill would put into law that which the President, a Republican, has already stated. Why are they afraid of it passing?

We must stop the funding now. BushCo has not demonstrated that they can be trusted with one penny let alone the lives of the men and women who are paying the true price for this war. Also, unless we stop him now, he will attack Iran.

We cannot win this war. We are only making things worse, making the world hate us more. Our soldiers are dying because President Bush refuses to admit defeat. Stop it. Stop him.
Thank you

To what end do you expect the voice of the people to have?
King George and his court Jesters have spoken!!!
Let's move to impeach Clinton - that'll clear everything up!
When Iraq falls all of the Iraq Gov't Officials will move to Switzerland to their villas bought by U.S. dollars missing - and, they've stockpiled enought to live their lives in exile as hero's. Get real and put a stop to this lunacy - which runs deep and wide.

Please end the slaughter of our youth. Are counting gallons of blood for the oil you expect to gain? Fossil fuels are a thing of the past. Why are you trading the blood of our young for it?

This war is costing precious American lives. How many of your children or grandchildren are fighting this war? It is costing us billings of dollars. Prudence has to take place. Do what's right. Bring the troops home. We need to spend resources edifying this country not destroying other countries.

Bring our troops home. Fighting is not the answer. How many more people must die before one sees the futility of it all. It was a lie to have gone it and it is a travesty to continue. Please help STOP the bloodshed.

Please bring back our soldiers. They are dying, and nothing is achieved. We have the best of intentions, but interfering in Iraq's civil war is not helping the people who must live there. Let us face the facts.

The American public has expressed the collective desire for immediate plans for swift withdrawal from Iraq. It is time for Congress to begin devising a plan.

All the so-called 'debate' about the war is palaver about where, when, how much. We need it to include the possibility of peace as the other option. All is framed as the GOP wish. We need our officials to stand up for alternatives. This kind of war and that kind of war are not actually alternatives,We now all agree that we have created terrorists. But we still are told to believe that we 'must not' leave the area. How about believing the educated Iraqis who tell us we *must* leave to allow peace and stability? Let's try talking about that w/ those who know--not American officials nor military.

This isue seems to be like a broken record, over and over again. But until you do something about it, it will continue. Six more died over night in this tragic war. How many more does Bush and Cheney need to see, before they start caring about this issue?

On the 4th anniversary of this political black hole the Congress must use it's constitutional power to stop this war and prevent the administration from creating any more murderous disasters in other countries, such as Iran.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Congress the best way to support the American troops in Iraq is to take them out of harms way immediately if not sooner, which means using currently appropriated monies to bring them home and not appropriating any additional funds for the war or occupation in Iraq. The young men and women of the United States should never have been put in harms way in a war of choice, especially in a situation like Iraq were there is no clear distinction between friend and foe (shades of Korea and Viet Nam all over again). We invaded an innocent nation and then expected the people of that nation to thank us for slaughtering hundreds of thousands of their young men, women and children. The American people have spoken out - WE NEED TO GET OUR TROOPS OUT NOW! WE MUST NOT ALLOW AN INCREASE OF PERSONNEL IN IRAQ! The reason for this opinion, contrary to what the President and the Press are stating, is that the people of the United States have come to realize that the War in Iraq is a lie and completely unjust. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11/01 and did not have weapons of mass destruction. The only thing that Iraq did have (or do) was an over abundance of oil which President Bush and his friends wished to control so that they could increase their wealth. As a nation we cannot condone the death of more of our young men and women in an unjust and wrong-headed war!

Congress must draw a line and say no more! Congress must represent the people who elected them and trusted that they would stop the killing and slaughter of innocent lives both American and Iraqi. This occupation and war must not and cannot continue.

Under the leadership of President Bush the United States Military has devolved into a group of people no longer upholding the standards of the United States of America - Peace, Justice and Liberty for all. It has become the pawn of men interested in lining their own pockets at the expense of not only the lives of our young men and women but also the lives of the young men and women of Iraq.

The Nuremberg Trials were held at the insistences of the United States of America to establish that no soldier could commit crimes against humanity and claim that they were just following orders. The Trials established the fact the a soldiers own moral values must rule and that when these values are put in conflict with a direct military order that demands a crime be committed the soldier must refuse! Not only must the soldier refuse but also report its issuance. All soldiers must say no when an unlawful or murderous order is given and we the citizens of the world must stand behind them for having the courage to refuse an order which is actually a crime against humanity.

It is time that our military stop being pawns and again start being the peacekeepers and guardians of freedom and liberty.

We should NEVER have bombed and invaded Iraq in the first place, and to go on pretending otherwise is to fool no one but ourselves.

The George W. Bush administration will go down as the most damaging, deadly, and destructive one in our nation's history--from arrogant war-mongering, to sacrificing the life blood of our young troops for an egotistica, oil-drenched pissing contest, to criminal treatment of our environment. God, if You're still there, pray deliver us from GWB's end game---before it is THE end game.

Stop the escalation of the war, stop funding the war, bring our troops home now and end this horrible circus of death. Take a stand and stop pussyfooting around the outlaws in the Whitehouse. This is what we voted you in for.

When our legislators continue to ignore the rising protests against the war, it is obvious that they have a diffferent agenda than we understand, and that different agenda is not by the people or for the people.

How long will it take you to notice that this war is now unwinnable? How many more lives? How many maimings? How many widows and orphans? How much more American blood and money to pay for a war that was waged on a lie, planned by ignoranuses, and executed on the cheap? How many more years will it take to notice the inescapable conclusion? The only honorable action is to withdraw!

This war began with lies of the Bush administration, and even Hillary says it will be necessary to maintain American forces in that country for many years to come. I say NO! No more doing as they please! The American now finally aware the truth want out of this. And more importantly, the Iraqis want us out of their country as they have every right to want us out. I cringe at the thought our troops killing and being killed not by "terrorists" but by insurgents. There is no counry in the world we could invade that we wouldn't create the very same conditions we now find in Iraq. Bush created this mess! It's time we stop letting him use the mess he created as an excuse to stay there permantly. We must insist that Congress over rule that war monger and redeploy our forces out of Iraq immediately!
