Don't Repeal Obamacare, REPLACE It
It would be a wonderful thing if Republicans in Congress had some constructive, positive proposal for meaningful health care reform. Unfortunately, all they are interested in is tearing down what is already there, leaving nothing but wreckage behind.
We all know the real solution to all this, a single payer system that extends to all the opportunity to buy into our existing Medicare system. That is what should have been passed in the first place, and what remains the only viable long term alternative.
Republicans complain of increases in insurance premiums, but have no explanation as to how ripping existing health care plans out of the hands of those who have them now will put them in a better negotiating position for better rates. Single payer is precisely the only possible system to remedy this negotiating position imbalance, through the collective negotiating power of the federal government, just as in all other national contracts.
Republicans well know that repealing the current system will do absolutely nothing but put people even more at the disadvantaged mercy of corporate special health care interests. That is the real problem, and Republicans just want to make it worse by stealing from people even the health care plans they have now.
If you have some proposal for a law replacing the health care bill we'd love to hear it. Until then, shut up about repeal.
