If the minimum wage had the buying power it had in the sixties, it would be over $11 an hour right now, and if it kept pace with real worker productivity, it would be twice that.

It is a national disgrace that anyone working hard in this country should be living below the poverty line, while the richest people in the country, the same people fighting to depress wage levels, profit off the exploitation of others.

Every person who works deserves a living wage. And if we can't afford that, we can't afford to have a country.

Raise the minimum wage to at least $15 an hour over the next couple years, and peg it to inflation forevermore after that. And while you're at it, stop making trade deals that favor the permanent export of American jobs.
