Only Single Payer Means Real Health Care Reform, And We Will Have To Demand Nothing Less To Get It
The first thing we need to understand is that Obama HAS NO PLAN for health care reform, at least not one that he will publicly disclose, otherwise he would put forward a bill and say, "This is what I want Congress to pass." Instead, what he did in his national address the other night, was embrace a hodge podge of half-baked congressional proposals, all of which have ONE purpose and singular directive ... to NOT curtail in any way the usurous profit margins of the existing health care industry.
Worse yet, he went out of his way to SMEAR the one proposal that would actually make a meaningful difference, to institute a single payer system, which a majority of the American support if you ask them, like any of the ones which have been so successful in every other major industrial country. "Radical" he called it, as if the idea of any kind of actual substantive change was some kind of left wing fringe idea, and this from the "Change we can believe in" candidate.
We must demand the REAL change we voted for, and demand it now. It WILL happen if enough of us speak out, which means ONLY if YOU speak out now, and keep speaking out.
